Variety at Maine Internet Radio
May this find you enjoying July and taking Maine Internet Radio with you everywhere! We can be the soundtrack to your summer. I’m sure you have your favorite station here at Maine Internet Radio, but did you know there are specialty shows on those stations?
Mainely Alternative has a special blues show each Sunday. “The Maine Blues Project” with your host Ken Phillips is on each Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. eastern. Two hours of the best blues, old and new.
Also on Mainely Alternative, “Coffee Conversations” with Chris Keegan is on with new episodes at 6 p.m. on Friday. If you should miss it, the episode repeats Sundays and Wednesdays at Noon. As a founder of Coffee Hound Coffee Company, Chris has unique insights about coffee and about the rest of the world. “Coffee Conversations” airs just before a show that has had a long history. It started in 1988 on WERU-FM and it’s home is now on Maine Internet Radio. Kim Mitchell hosts “Departure” on Friday immediately after “Coffee Conversations”. Kim plays alternative music from the 1970’s to now and is always looking for your requests!
Over on Cheese Radio, host Bill DaButler has two specialty days. The cheese of the day if you will. On Saturdays, it’s Cheese and Chill, with a bit more relaxed sound ala coffeehouse. And on Sundays until 12 noon, Bill mixes in a stunning mix of Christian songs.
At Nice and Easy, host Brian Nadeau puts on the jazz hat and is live in the studio for “Jazz Brunch” from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Brian’s vast knowledge of music and how to put it together makes for a can’t miss show.
On Mainely 70’s, on an average of once every two months, it’s “Double Play Sunday”, where two songs by the same artist are played back-to-back from 6 a.m. to 12 midnight. Usually it’s one song you know very well and the other song is from the back of the library. Plus around the major holidays, host Steve G. will countdown a Hot 100 chart from the 70’s for that weekend. That’s right, from #100 to #1. Plus on Mondays at 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Bill DaButler is the host for “Tasty Vinyl”. A short form show that talks about all the sonic wonders of vinyl and plays a classic track.
So keep tuning in and check out what your local hosts in Maine are doing for you!
Until next time, keep making it a great summer.
