Our First Blog of 2021!
So far, so good in January 2021. It looks like our listenership is up on several of our stations. We are still in the process of populating our YouTube page and will be releasing that within a few weeks.
Many of you have turned to Mainely ’80s as your station of choice as we have seen a recent spike in the numbers. Jim Baines, Steve G., and I are your hosts on weekdays beginning at 9 am. We are adding more songs along the way from the decade, too. Mainely 70’s is also gaining listenership this month.
I believe our continued presence on social media and advertising on Spectrum has helped folks discover us and reminded listeners that we are still here and strong. Keep spreading the word. That’s the best way to grow our audience.
We thank Tim Davis of Tim’s Plumbing for renewing his sponsorship of Maine Internet Radio. An outstanding businessman, Tim runs a great company. Service is indeed their specialty.
Also, Jen Litteral of Coffee Hound Coffee Co. has joined us as a sponsor. The best coffee by far, around. It’s brewed locally right across the river in Brewer and shipped all over the country. It’s also available at most grocery stores in the area. Thank you, Jen, and we will be enjoying your coffee here at our studios!
Local sponsors keep us on the air and allow the opportunity to bring you a diverse lineup of stations. Support them any way you can by using their products and services. Also, spread the word about them.
Here’s a little known fact about Maine Internet Radio. We are available on Amazon Alexa! To begin listening to any of our stations on your Alexa, you first need to enable the Live 365 Alexa Skill in the Alexa Skills Store.
Search “Live 365” in the Alexa Skills Store.
Once there, select “Enable.” You will then be able to access Live 365 on all of your available Alexa devices. You can also enable the Live 365 skill by merely saying, “Alexa, Enable Live 365 Skill.”
After enabling the Live 365 skill, tune in to Live 365 by saying, “Alexa, play Live 365!” You will then be prompted to pick the station. To pick your favorite station from our lineup on Live 365, say “Play [————].” [Mainely Alternative, Mainely 80s, Mainely 70s, Sports.Comedy.Rock, Cheese Radio, Nice and Easy]
Say slowly and enunciate well! Once connected, it will play. A pretty cool function is that it will remember the station next time you say, “Play Live 365!”
Note that “Live 365” is pronounced “live three sixty-five.” Give it a try. Sometimes it takes more than once to get it going. Be patient and let us know how it works for you. We are working with Live 365 to make sure this is a well functioning service that we can offer.
That’s it for now. Enjoy your day.
