Maybe an early mud season here in Maine for most of us? Time will tell. Also, our meteorologist Steve McKay can give you daily updates and a look ahead 🙂 Although our weather here is very changeable and sometimes uncertain, what we do look forward to is increasing daylight now through the end of June, and that makes everyone happy!
Kim Mitchell, host of Mainely Alternative has been taking the remote gear out to our satellite studio at Rize, 49 Main Street in the heart of Downtown Bangor since Thanksgiving weekend. We have had great response with folks stopping by and showing up in the window, where Kim broadcasts! It’s a lot of fun to be part of the downtown community of businesses. We will be back there on March 19th, so set your calendar reminder for Noon to 3pm.
Jon has returned to the airwaves on Mainely Alternative as well. His business began booming this past fall and he was not able to do the daily 2-6pm slot, but we missed him so much we arm twisted him into a Sunday night show! Alternative Reality returns from 8-Midnight every Sunday. Its a great blend of music to unwind from the weekend, featuring a lot of Jon’s favorite jam bands too. Check it out, right after the Maine Blues Project….another great local show from 6-8pm Sundays.
Steve Ginn has been busy adding to and adjusting Mainely 70’s throughout the past several weeks. Give a listen as you will find almost 10,000 songs, which is the most variety anywhere. Steve has also paired up with Rick Haney, whose voice you hear at the top of each hour on Mainely 80’s giving our station ID. Rick will be the host and voice of a brand new show we are beginning on February 26th called 20th Century Breakdown. It’s a program spanning music from the 50’s to 2000 with lots of extended mixes and music you will not hear anywhere else. The show is on Mainely 80’s from 6-8pm Saturdays and on Mainely 70’s from 8-10pm that same night. Give a listen and let us know what you think!
We are always growing our audience and you are a big part of our marketing campaign. Just by listening and spreading the word to your family and friends, you make a big difference. Keep telling everyone you know that you listen to Maine Internet Radio, and let them know how easy it is to get….anywhere!!
Thats all for now. Happy mud season!
