Let’s be honest! We try! We really do try to get a blog to you often. Sometimes it’s a dry spell between the blogs and for that we offer an honest “sorry about that”. But please know that we are working diligently behind the scenes on our on air product. And do we have some exciting news to bring you on that front!
You may have noticed that unlike many internet stations or services, that we only have 6 to 7 streams at a time. And each station is unique. We don’t want to be a jukebox of the 300 biggest hits of whatever genre you’re listening to. We want to have an in-depth library and there is a “curator” of each station. Oh yeah, Steve G. of Mainely 70’s here and yes I challenge everyone to find a larger library of 70’s music. No one has come up with an answer for me yet.
With that being said, owner Kim Mitchell has been looking at developing a Maine station for a couple of years. Enter Lou Morin. Lou lives and breathes Maine music and Maine heritage and history. He’s the director of the Franco/American Heritage Center in the Lewiston/Auburn area and before that he was the Director of Public Marketing and Relations for Maine Public. Let’s just say Lou and Kim had a meeting and now Maine Internet Radio’s newest station is now playing! It’s “Maine Music & Talk”. The station showcases Maine artists performing music of all genres from a large and growing library of Maine music. You’ll hear blues, rock, reggae, jazz, bluegrass, folk, country, gospel, big band and more — maybe all in a row! Also, occasionally feature artists “from away” from concerts recorded here in the Pine Tree State. We discuss subjects of importance to Mainers, too, and you’re invited to join the conversation at 207-614-0584.
State of Maine meteorologist Steve McKay is featured on all Maine Internet Radio stations (except Wreaths Across America) with his daily forecasts. We want to welcome the newest sponsor for the weather, Pine Tree Solar serving the state of Maine from Hermon. PineTreeSolar.com
There are other advertising opportunities for the weather also as well as advertising in general on our stations. Contact Kim at [email protected] for more information.
But we aren’t stopping there. We are always working on making Maine Internet Radio, your listening destination. In fact, we are working on another station to be added to the network! Before I go, do me a favor, go to Maine Internet Radio, LLC on Facebook and give the page a “like”. You can keep up with the latest news right there!
I got to run. I’m working on another “Double Play Sunday” on Mainely 70’s for November 7th. Take care and keep listening!
